Be it a mystery movie screening, three days’ worth of jazz at Cubao-based Tago Jazz Cafe, or a party celebrating FKA Twigs’ Eusexua, here are some of the best ways to unwind for the next 72 hours.

Featuring the first two chapters from Filipino author Glenn Diaz’s 2024 National Book Award-winning novel Yñiga, alongside works by contemporary visual artist Lesley-Anne Cao, e.g. promises to be a playground for the experimental and the unexpected. Watch A Performance Art Show On Bakla Identity

Anima Art Space, 19 Ricardo Nepomuceno, Quezon City
January 25

On January 25, 2025, art gallery Anima Art Space transforms into the stage for The Spectacle, an electrifying performance art piece by nonbinary artist Jolly V. From 2-5 p.m., Jolly V brings the messy, beautiful complexity of the bakla identity to life, exploring the intersections of queer Filipino culture and decolonization in a way that’s both intimate and fierce. A multi-hyphenate artist — DJ, actor, and organizer — Jolly V creates art that serves as a love letter to trans and queer folks, both past and future. But don’t expect a tame show: this one’s unapologetically bold, with content that’s definitely for the 18+ crowd. Come ready to challenge your mind and your senses.
