P-pop trio G22 is continuing its impressive 2025 run with another bold release. Their upcoming single, “Filipina Queen,” is set to drop on May 30, and all signs point to a track that does more to encourage their fan base. A teaser released on May 25 features members AJ, Alfea, and Jaz moving in tight formation, with choreography that suggests a deeper meaning tied to the song’s message.

The teaser pairs a trap-infused instrumental with the phrase “ALPHA FILIPINA” stamped across visuals in all caps, reading like an important call to action. G22 seems less interested in fitting in and more focused on staking a claim, not only for themselves but for something bigger.

Earlier this year, the group released “Pa-Pa-Pa-Palaban,” a high-energy track that championed empowerment and self-worth. Like the upcoming single, it leaned into themes of confidence and pride, pushing women to take control of their image, their upbringing, and how they define their own success. The song broke away from standard P-Pop formulas with sharper back-and-forth rap verses and choruses, proving that G22 is more interested in evolution than replication.

G22 has never played by the usual rules. Their approach to music, visuals, and message is calculated but unfiltered. The group continues to challenge what it means to be a pop act in the Philippines. “Filipina Queen” is shaping up to be a bold statement for the girl group. G22 is moving with purpose, and they are not waiting for permission to lead.
