Canada has a self-proclaimed alien queen, and she’s a Filipino immigrant — and the leader of a QAnon-inspired cult. Conspiracy theorist Romana Didulo and 16 others were arrested on Wednesday, September 3, following a raid of their compound in Richmound, Saskatchewan.
BBC reports that authorities obtained a warrant to search the compound, an abandoned school turned campsite, after receiving a report that someone at the property possessed a firearm. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) searched the school building and eight camper vans, where they found 13 replica semi-automatic handguns and ammunition, according to CBC.
Didulo and her group, the “Kingdom of Canada,” have been residing in the Richmound compound for two years. According to Inquirer.net, the group moved there after being kicked out of the town of Kamsack in September 2023.
The Guardian says Didulo immigrated to Canada from the Philippines when she was 15. In 2020, she founded the non-registered “Canada 1st Party” and rose to prominence in conspiracy theorist spaces with the support of QAnon influencers. She and the adherents of the Kingdom of Canada believe in the QAnon theory that a cabal of elites operates a global sex trafficking ring through the government.
According to Vice, she also pushed conspiracies against vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic, telling followers on her Telegram channel to “Shoot to kill anyone who tries to inject children under the age of 19 years old with Coronavirus-19 vaccines/bioweapons or any other vaccines.”

Among Didulo’s other outlandish claims are that she is the “queen of Canada” and that she has extraterrestrial connections. According to BBC, she issues “decrees” absolving her followers from taxes, bills, and debt on Telegram, causing many of her followers to lose their homes.
“Queen Romana is at the helm,” the text says in a promotional video embedded on her official website. “We not givin up. We not givin in.” The video was posted by a certain Michael Hawkins on YouTube, whose profile picture bears the cult’s logo.
The website also calls her “Commander-in-Chief of North America; Head of Government; Head of State; President; First Prime Minister; National Indigenous Chief; Queen of the Kingdom of Canada; Queen of America; Queen of North America; and Queen of the World, Living Crown, Custodian of Earth and Humanity, under Natural Law.”
According to CBC, Richmound locals have told authorities that Didulo’s cult has harassed people and threatened to take over their town.
