Nu-metal legends Deftones have officially teamed up with workwear brand Dickies for a long-awaited collaboration that is decades in the making. Announced on November 4, the partnership marks the first time Deftones has worked directly with Dickies, which have been subject to bootleg collaboration merch for years. The “Deftones Dickies” spoofs have been so ingrained in the band’s lore that, after 37 years since their inception, it finally is.
The collaboration features co-branded apparel featuring variations of colored tees and hoodies, showing the iconic yellow horseshoe with the band name in Dickies’ signature font. The collaboration celebrates both Dickies’ blue-collar roots and Deftones’ impact and influence in alternative music. The move feels like a full-circle for a band whose sound and style have shaped generations of listeners since the release of albums like Around the Fur, White Pony, and Saturday Night Wrist and released hit singles such as “Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away)” and “Change (House of Flies).” The drop follows Deftones’ latest Dia De Los Deftones festival, which showcases the band’s handpicked mix of emerging and veteran acts.
The merch is now available at Deftones’ official webstore.
