Pop rapper SHNTI kicks things off with her new single “hot pursuit” released on November 21. The track is the first single from her upcoming album set for next year under Lightning in a Bottle Studios (LIAB Studios). She draws from the charge of early electroclash and the edge of electronic acts like the hellp, Grimes, and Spiral Drive. The result is a fast and tense production that moves with pulsing rhythms, sharp textures, and a clear shift toward a louder and more abrasive palette. Here, she shows a new direction that leans into electronica and rock while keeping the core traits that shaped her earlier work in her debut EP ELMNT released back in 2022.

The visualizer for “hot pursuit” was edited by SHNTI herself. Rotating orange text runs through the frame and cuts across footage of drifting cars and demolition derby scenes. The rougher tone reflects the track’s focus on pressure, movement, and the need to push forward. In a press statement, she says the goal of the song is “to rise higher, trust their fire, and run their race with determination, fearless intent, and unbreakable drive.”

Produced by ango and Arkyalina, with Oz Kabuhat of Ozo on backing vocals, “hot pursuit” gives the first full look into the sound of SHNTI’s next era.
