Since the January theatrical release of the extended edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring for the film’s 25th anniversary, fans have been clamoring for the re-release of The Two Towers and Return of the King as well.
Now, it looks like fans won’t have to wait anymore. The SM Cinemas website has listed the extended edition of The Two Towers for a February 25 release date.
Picking up from the end of The Fellowship of the Ring, the second in the trilogy will follow hobbits Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) as they make their way closer and closer to Mordor to destroy the ring.
The extended edition of the film will run 3 hours and 43 minutes, compared with the original’s 2 hours and 59 minutes.
As of writing, no specific cinema locations have been listed.
