Drake announced not one, not two, but three albums around midnight. He revealed not just ICEMAN but also two more albums, Maid of Honour and Habibti, all announced simultaneously on his Instagram account on May 15 12 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (4 a.m. in Philippine Time). If one album isn’t enough for a comeback, why not drop three? The Champagne Papi’s got the answer as all three albums come out as soon as possible.
The first album cover art, Habibti, shows an unnamed woman with tape covering her face except for the eyes, while the second, Maid of Honour, features a photo of his mother, Sandi Graham, with a faint overlay of baby Drake being carried by his father, Dennis Graham. The third and final cover, ICEMAN, features a photoscan of a diamond‑encrusted white glove — reminiscent of what Michael Jackson wore in his performances — and a bracelet spelling out the album’s name.
ICEMAN was among the first of three albums announced on April 22, with a release date of May 15, teased that same day. The Toronto rapper placed a gigantic ice block in a downtown Toronto parking lot and posted on his socials that the block would reveal the release date “inside.” After the announcement, fans went to the site not only to marvel at the structure but also to desperately break in, using sledgehammers to smash through the ice in hopes of finding the release date.
