100 Awit Para Kay Stella, the follow-up to director Jason Paul Laxamana’s 2017 hit, 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, is set to release soon, although its exact date is still under wraps.
Laxamana took to Instagram to tease the sequel, posting stills from 100 Tula Para Kay Stella captioned with the main characters’ unspoken thoughts. “Kumusta na kaya after all these years?” Laxamana wrote. “Natagpuan ba ng puso ang saya? Minsan ako ba ay naiisip pa?” The sequel promises to reunite Bela Padilla and JC Santos as Stella and Fidel, the lovestruck college pair from the original film.
100 Tula Para Kay Stella follows Fidel (Santos), a shy college freshman who is quietly in love with Stella (Padilla), an aspiring but frustrated rocker who attends the same university in Pampanga. Wanting to confess his love for her but not knowing how, Fidel writes 100 poems for her and searches for the confidence to read them to her.
Laxamana has been teasing production of the sequel since 2020, although he has yet to announce the film’s plot. However, Padilla mentioned in an interview with ABS-CBN that the sequel will take place seven years after the events of the original movie. “‘Yong 100 Awit Para Kay Stella, mangyayari ng present time,” said Padilla, “so makikita natin ano na naging buhay nila after college, saan sila napunta, kung naging successful si Fidel, ano nangyari.”
