Let us be glad! Filipino drag diva Marina Summers is taking to the stage next year as Glinda in a UK production of Wizard of Oz.
Summers revealed she will portray the Good Witch of the North in an upcoming production by Adult Panto, a UK-based company known for its drag-themed adult pantomimes. Besides Summers, the production will star RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 1 runner-up Divina de Campo as The Wizard and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 contestant A‘’Whora as the Wicked Witch of the West. The production will tour around the UK from January to March next year.
The runner-up of Drag Race Philippines’ first season made the announcement at The Marina Summers Drag Exhibit, a showcase held from December 18 to 19 at Baked Studios Makati that displayed over fifty of Summers’ most iconic drag ensembles. The show featured outfits the queen wore on Drag Race Philippines, Miss Universe 2024, red carpets, tours, and more.
Summers has established herself as a dominant force in the Philippine drag scene. Hailing from Nueva Vizcaya, she began her drag journey in 2019, performing regularly at the now-closed Nectar Nightclub and co-founding the drag entertainment company Playhouse PH. She gained national fame after competing on the inaugural season of Drag Race Philippines and catapulted to international stardom after finishing third place on Drag Race: UK vs. The World.
