On November 21 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Thailand, Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025.
120 contestants vied for the prestigious pageant crown, competing in the national costume presentation. The top 30 delegates were then selected to compete in the swimsuit runway, and then the top 12 moved on to the evening gown competition.
The top 5 contestants — Miss Philippines Ahtisa Manalo, Miss Thailand Praveenar Singh, Miss Venezuela Stephany Abesali, Miss Côte d’Ivoire Olivia Yace, and Miss Mexico Bosch — proceeded to the final round of the pageant: a live Q&A session.
During the Q&A, Bosch was asked how she would use the title of Miss Universe to make a safer place for women. “As a woman and as Miss Universe,” said Bosch, “I will put my voice and the power in the service of others because nowadays we are here to speak up, to make change and have everything in view because we are women and the brave ones that stand up are the ones that will make history.”
Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025, while Singh is first runner-up; Abesali placed second runner-up, Manalo placed third runner-up, and Yace placed fourth runner-up. For the Philippines, this is the highest placement the country has achieved in three years at the global pageant.
Bosch succeeds the reigning Miss Universe, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark. Bosch also found herself at the center of controversy earlier this month, when Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil berated her at a pre-pageant ceremony and called her a “dumbhead” for allegedly not doing enough to promote the Miss Universe organization on social media.
