Yes, Conan O’Brien is now a teleserye star.
The comedian has just finished filming scenes for his travel show, Conan O’Brien Must Go, in Manila, but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t left his mark on the local television scene. GMA announced that O’Brien will be featured in the latest episode of action series Sanggang-Dikit FR.
The show stars celebrity couple Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado as two police officers burdened by their dark pasts. From the episode’s promotional video alone, it looks O’Brien will be playing a mustachioed, floral shirt-wearing villain who ultimately gets beaten up by the duo. After an intense fight sequence complete with dramatic sound effects, Mercado points her gun at O’Brien and declares, “You’re under arrest!” From his spot on the ground, the comedian looks up and asks, “For real?”
For diligent Team Coco fans, however, the announcement doesn’t come as a surprise. On October 17, Trillo had already posted behind-the-scenes photos on Facebook, giving a sneak peek of Conan on the set of Sanggang-Dikit FR. “Hindi po AI ito, totoong nakasama namin siya,” wrote Trillo.
