The Good Doctor is coming to the Philippines, and it stars Iñigo Pascual.
The medical show first hit television screens in 2013 as a K-drama starring Joo Won as Dr. Park Si-on, a brilliant pediatric surgeon with savant syndrome, a rare condition in which people with varying developmental disorders, including autism, also possess exceptional ability and talent in a specific field. Since then, it has been adapted in several countries, including Hong Kong, Turkey, Japan, and the United States, the latter of which saw Freddie Highmore take on the titular role.
Now, the story has arrived in the Philippines, with Pascual stepping into the role of Dong, a young savant doctor whose medical abilities and compassion set him apart from others in his field. The Philippine adaptation is a collaboration between CreaZion Studios and MediaQuest.
“The Good Doctor is a powerful story of how Filipinos continue to instill hope, even in today’s complex socio-political climate. We believe this adaptation will not only resonate emotionally, but also spark meaningful conversations about public health and the systems that shape it,” says RJ Agustin, CEO of CreaZion Studios.
The Good Doctor is set to premiere exclusively on TV5 in 2026.
