It was a bit of a challenge for guests to enter the Ayala Museum for the recent launch of the Stella McCartney H&M collection, and Mew Suppasit was partly to blame.

After the actor and H&M Thailand ambassador announced on Instagram that he’d be stopping by the Ayala Museum to celebrate the new collection, crowds of fans began flanking the building’s entrances and windows, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

Over the past decade, Suppasit has established himself as a mainstay of Thai television, having starred in Boys’ Love (BL) dramas such as I Am Your King, and TharnType: The Series. Suppasit has since pivoted to music, collaborating with major artists such as EXO’s Suho, British electronic duo HONNE, and South Korean singers Bumkey and Sam Kim. He has also started his own production company, Mew Suppasit Studio, which he leads as its CEO.

Along with Suppasit, high-profile guests and friends of H&M came together to preview the new collection. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, and actors such as Bela Padilla and Chie Filomeno were all in attendance, sporting selections from the collection.

The Stella McCartney H&M collection highlights the strongest elements of both brands, including their sharp tailoring, attention to detail, and commitment to crafting pieces from certified and recycled fibers. Reuniting nearly 20 years after their first collaboration in 2005, this partnership signals an evolution of the H&M designer collaboration model.

“The collection is just incredible,” Suppasit told Rolling Stone Philippines. “My sense of style tends to be more laid back, but I really think about the details of what I wear.”

Suppasit spent the evening selecting from the pieces on display, gravitating towards the “whites and blues” that fit his personal style. Although he came to the event already dressed in an outfit straight from the collection — a rock royalty lace-up studded top and a Stella bag charm — Suppasit was more than happy to show off his latest purchases. A snakeskin-print bomber jacket and a unicorn sweatshirt were just some of the pieces to make their way into his shopping bag.

When asked about the popularity of BL dramas across Asia, as well as the genre’s spread to the West with shows like Heated Rivalry, Suppasit felt that BLs have always been a part of the global culture. “BL has always been all around the world,” he said. “Many people resonate with [the genre], and everyone can find something they understand in it.”

These days, Suppasit is busier than ever as he juggles new projects as an actor, musician, and entrepreneur. “It’s hard, because I love all [the roles]!” Suppasit said jokingly before he left for the evening. “I love acting, I love singing, and I love leading my businesses. It’s all just about managing my time.”

The collection will be available at H&M Greenbelt and via the brand’s official website starting May 7.
