On March 5, celebrated pop-rock quartet SOS announced on social media that, after eight years, their sophomore album is on the way under the record label Careless. Frontman Roberto Seña described the milestone as an “amalgamation of moments.” He said, “It’s a sad glance, it’s being recluse when you’re surrounded by loved ones, it’s the anxiety of being an adult, but it is also the joy of being one or at least trying to be. It could be relief, but it could also be the weight on your shoulders.”
The news comes at the heels of their single “Amore,” a single they’ve frequently played in live sets since 2012, which was only released in 2024. Fans were caught off guard by the album announcement months after the single’s release, proving that SOS still knows how to keep everyone on their toes.
The band first made waves with their debut self-titled EP, with their hit single “Dying To Meet You,” showcasing their signature blend of gritty guitar riffs, effortless vocal delivery, and a sleazy, unapologetic attitude that set them apart in the local indie scene.
Their debut album Whatever That Was was released in 2017 and marked a shift from their high-energy indie rock roots to a more introspective, emotionally charged sound, with tracks like “Leave Me Out of It.” “Whatever That Was,” “Favoritism,” and “Magic.” The band has also toured all our Asia in countries such as Japan, Singapore, and Thailand.
Now, SOS is ready to reintroduce themselves. On their official Instagram account, Seña teased the album’s release date with a simple yet exciting message: “This was definitely a moment. See you on March 28th.”
