Pop-rock band Over October is set to release “Bitin,” the follow-up to their breakout track, “Ikot.” The new single is described as a sibling to the original hit, which drew widespread attention for its emotionally direct lyrics: “Paulit-ulit ko lang sinasabi / Sa sarili ko ang mga hindi / Mabitawang salita para sa ‘yo.” That track helped introduce the band to a broader audience, marking a key moment in their growing popularity.
Ahead of the release, the band has teased fans on social media with a preview of “Bitin,” posting a lyric that reads, “Pabitin-bitin lang mula nung mailang.” The brief snippet has sparked speculation among listeners that the new single will continue the emotional narrative introduced in “Ikot.”
Over October joins a long line of Filipino bands who have explored the concept of musical sequels, where songs that either continue a lyrical story or expand on emotional themes. Among the more well-known examples are Rivermaya’s “214 (Reprise),” Mayonnaise’s “Bakit Part 2,” and similar follow-up tracks from Sugarfree, Kamikazee, and Parokya ni Edgar. While each of these songs serves a different purpose, they often aim to deepen the impact of a well-loved original.

The band has continued to build momentum following the sold-out success of “Ikot sa Music Museum,” their first headlining concert, held at the Music Museum in August last year. Since then, Over October have maintained a steady release of singles and are on track toward wider commercial recognition. With “Bitin” slated to arrive in the coming month, the band is signaling their intent to solidify their presence in the music scene by leaning into both narrative continuity and emotional depth.
