BTS has confirmed plans to release their first new studio album and a world tour in five years, marking a long-awaited return with everyone back on board. The announcement arrives shortly after their collective completion of South Korea’s mandatory military service, signaling a new chapter for the group following an extended period defined by each member’s diverse artistic range.
The group’s record label BIG HIT MUSIC announced that the new album will feature 14 new tracks. However, the world tour will be announced with full details on January 14. During the hiatus, each member pursued solo paths that expanded the group’s creative range. The group first announced the album in July, secretly laying the groundwork for the release.

“We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” BTS shared in a statement via Weverse in 2025. “We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
The forthcoming album, which remains untitled as of the moment, is set for release on March 20, via Big Hit Entertainment with pre-orders available on Jan 16. Their fifth and latest album follows 2020’s Be and arrives after the 2022 anthology Proof, which served as the group’s last release.
