Five years ago, Olivia Rodrigo blessed the world with her debut single, “driver’s license.” The track was angsty, heartbreaking, and staked its claim on the top of the Billboard Global 200 for eight weeks in a row. Since then, we’ve watched the young star drive herself through hit after hit, releasing her explosive first album, Sour, and her equally punchy sophomore success, Guts.
To celebrate her first single’s fifth anniversary, Rodrigo seems to be dropping hints for an upcoming big announcement.

A quick look at Rodrigo’s official website reveals that all Guts branding has been removed, replaced by what looks like a driver’s license renewal notice with an appointment scheduled for January 8 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Adding to the speculation is a recent post on Rodrigo’s Instagram, which features a golf cart named “The Album.” “hi 2026,” reads the caption.
Rodrigo has also made it clear in different interviews that she’s been busy in the studio. “I won’t say too much, but I think 2026 is going to be a busy year for me,” Rodrigo told Nylon last October.
Could Rodrigo be kicking the year off right with a third album? We’ll just have to wait for January 8 and see.
