Released on November 24, SEVENTEEN became the first K-pop group to perform at National Public Radio (NPR)’s Tiny Desk, the radio platform’s long-running concert series. NPR has previously welcomed K-pop acts, including BTS, during its Tiny Desk (Home) sessions in 2020, but SEVENTEEN are the first to sing behind the iconic desk inside their Washington, D.C. headquarters. The group delivered live arrangements of their career highlight singles such as “Super,” “Darl+ing,” “_WORLD,” “To You” and “HBD.”
Only five members took part in the session: Joshua, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino. The full lineup could not attend due to enlistments and scheduling commitments, but the performance held its weight by focusing on their vocal harmonies, tone and steady control of their chemistry. Last May, the group confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that they will continue releasing solo material while several members complete mandatory military service. They also noted that the full team plans to reunite after their two-year enlistment cycle.
SEVENTEEN have built a long relationship with Filipino fans across several visits. They first performed in Manila during their 2016 Asia tour at The Theatre at Solaire. They returned in 2020 to close their Ode to You tour at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. In 2022, they became the first K-pop act to headline the Philippine Arena. In January 2024, they followed it up with two stadium shows at the Philippine Sports Stadium for their Follow tour.
