Music documentary Eraserheads: Combo on the Run was acquired by film distributor Abramorama on February 27, making this the first Philippine documentary to earn its rights under the distribution. Following a strong festival run abroad, the docu film joins Abramorama’s slate of prestige music film titles, including The Beatles: Eight Days, The Sparks Brothers, Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision, Coldplay‘s Moon Music and Radiohead’s Meeting People Is Easy.
The film’s director Maria Diane Ventura had expressed her excitement over the both the distribution announcement and for being part of the longlist of other music titles from Abramorama that has made its mark in the film circles all over. “I’m incredibly excited about this partnership with Abramorama,” Ventura said in a press statement. “They are the perfect home for this film, not just because of their legacy in music documentaries, but because they understand stories that resonate on a deeper cultural level.”
In the past year, Eraserheads: Combo on the Run has also been recognized on the global festival circuit, winning Best International Documentary at the Ierapetra International Feature Documentary Festival in Greece back in August 2025, and screening as part of the official Spotlight on the Philippines program at the 44th Annual Hawaii International Film Festival, as well as Doc Berlin and the Liverpool Film Festival.
