Filipino-British alternative rock artist beabadoobee is set to return to Manila for her second live show on August 12 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. She’ll be performing tracks from This Is How Tomorrow Moves, her latest album released in August last year. Her last Manila show was in September 2022 in the same venue, when she was riding high on the success of Beatopia, drawing a devoted crowd of Gen Z fans from the alternative and internet indie scenes.

Fresh off a well-received Coachella set, she’s included the old hits such as “Charlie Brown” from her first album Fake it Flowers, “Care” from Beatopia, and the newer cuts like “Take A Bite.” The singer-songwriter recently covered what many locals consider a karaoke classic, “Sway,” the 2004 hit by New Zealand singer-songwriter Bic Runga, for triple j’s Like A Version series. The stripped-down rendition, a nod to her Filipino heritage, went viral on local media.

On This Is How Tomorrow Moves, folk influences take center stage, with the band Pinegrove cited as a key inspiration. Produced by Rick Rubin, it’s an album that pushed her creative boundaries while circling back to what made her fall in love with music in the first place. It’s equal parts risk and return and she’s bringing that duality to Manila.

Tickets to the concert produced by Live Nation Philippines will be available via the Live Nation Philippines website.
