Webster’s path has always defied expectations. As one of the few non-hip-hop acts under Awful Records (home to Playboi Carti and Lil Yachty) during her stint with the record label between 2016 and 2019, she carved out a space for wistful guitar ballads amid the Southern rap music renaissance spearheaded by her labelmates.
