Atlanta’s beloved singer-songwriter Faye Webster is set to charm Manila on Monday, July 21 at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, following her viral breakout with dreamy singles “Right Side of My Neck,” “Kingston,” and “In A Good Way.” The announcement sent waves through the Filipino music community , with artists like New Lore, Ean Mayor, and Tala publicly geeking out over her arrival.

Webster’s path has always defied expectations. As one of the few non-hip-hop acts under Awful Records (home to Playboi Carti and Lil Yachty) during her stint with the record label between 2016 and 2019, she carved out a space for wistful guitar ballads amid the Southern rap music renaissance spearheaded by her labelmates. While her first two albums established her position as an alt-country singer, Webster’s 2019 sleeper hit Atlanta Millionaires Club cemented her as indie rock’s best-kept secret. In 2024, she was one of 25 rising musicians in Rolling Stone’s “The Future of Music” showcase, which praised Underdressed at the Symphony’s blend of soft-rock elegance and self-aware humor.

Her live shows are equal parts musicianship and meme-worthy theater: blue ballgowns, giant washing machine props, and Dreamworks’ Minions references punctuate performances where her velvet vocals and lounge-piano arrangements take center stage. Filipino fans are already strategizing for the ticket selling, with one X user who joked about “gatekeeping” the show to avoid scalpers, which is proof of Webster’s cross-genre appeal among indie rock loyalists, R&B heads, and casual listeners alike.

Faye Webster: Live in Manila is presented by Karpos Live. Tickets available via Tickelo.
