Harry Potter fans, break out your wands and capes! After the success of its live orchestral performances of the first two Harry Potter films, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and CineConcerts has announced the return of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series to Manila.
On June 7 and 8, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will be screened in high-definition on a 40-foot screen at The Theater at Solaire. The film will be accompanied by a live performance of its iconic score, conducted by nationally acclaimed Filipino conductor Gerard Salonga. The 96-piece Filharmonika Orchestra and 48-piece Philippine Madrigal Singers will bring the magical music to life.
“The Harry Potter film series is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that continues to delight millions of fans around the world,” says Justin Freer, President of CineConcerts and Producer/Conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. The score of this third film, composed by world-renowned composer John Williams, earned an Oscar nomination in 2005 upon the film’s release.
The Fiharmonika Orchestra, founded by Salonga in 2005, is a proud symbol of Filipino musical talent and artistry. After almost a decade-long hiatus, the orchestra was restarted in 2024 in order to bring quality musical experiences to Filipino audiences. What’s more, the Philippine Madrigal Singers is one of the most awarded choral groups in the world, recognized by the UNESCO as Artists for Peace for “putting their fame and influence to promote cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace.”
Tickets to the concert are now available here.
