Rolling Stone Philippines gathered the country’s biggest stars and industry leaders to celebrate the launch of the magazine’s inaugural issue

On March 21, Rolling Stone Philippines made history with the launch of its maiden issue, ushering in a new era of Filipino journalism and publishing. Industry leaders, cultural trailblazers, and stars gathered at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater in BGC to celebrate this milestone with exclusive panels and unforgettable highlights.

The day kicked off with an opening ceremony where Chief of Editorial Content Jonty Cruz and Group Publisher Anne Bernisca officially launched the first issue of Rolling Stone Philippines.


Araullo then led a discussion on the intersection of modern journalism and technology with the industry’s most influential voices, exploring the challenges of traditional media, the rise in citizen reporting, and the future of investigative journalism.

From there, major advertising leaders such as Emily Abrera, Crisela Magpayo-Cervantes of advertising agency Group M, Tats Cruz of Publics, and Jeano Cruz of Gigil spoke on the importance of advertising in the digital era.

Actor and “King of Contemporary Cinema” John Lloyd Cruz sat down with National Artist Ricky Lee, who have both collaborated several times to discuss acting and the power of narratives.

Several of the country’s most accomplished athletes — Olympian pole vaulter EJ Obiena, Olympian weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez, acclaimed ice hockey player Steven Füglister, and two-time Philippine Basketball Association champion Gabe Norwood — gathered to talk about their love for their game and what it truly means to triumph as athletes.

In a culinary-centric panel moderated by FEATR Media’s Erwan Heussaff, Chef Bruce Ricketts, restauranteur Jae De Veyra Pickrell, Chef Miko Calo, and Chef Josh Boutwood discussed the current state of the Philippines’ food and beverage industry.

Marking the March 21 release of Eraserheads: Combo on the Run, the documentary unveiling the untold story of the ’90s Pinoy rock legends, a panel featuring band frontman Ely Buendia, filmmaker Diane Ventura, Warner Bros. exec Rico Gonzales, and concert producer Francis Lumen offered an inside look at the film’s making.

To cap off the day, all four Eraserheads — Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala — went on stage for an unforgettable 15-minute set, delivering a high-energy performance that had the crowd on their feet.
