As part of the program for his current solo exhibition “Mga Munting Alaala,” photographer Eric Bico is set to hold an artist talk at Tarzeer Pictures, complete with a night of karaoke.
“Pag-Alala Paghilom,” Bico’s talk scheduled for December 4, builds on the vitality of interaction in his practice. Flint, a Manila-based photo collective, will also present a slideshow of images in response to the songs chosen by the artist for his ongoing exhibition. The evening will be capped off by a karaoke session, where Bico welcomes the audience to release using songs.
“Hindi ko inaasahang dahil sa paglilitrato ay lalawak ang aking pagtingin at pag-unawa sa ibang tao, maging sa sarili ko,” wrote Bico in a statement.
Bico has steadily built a name for himself in photography, video, and performance, having had his work featured in galleries such as Kalawakan Spacetime, Modeka, and Edoweird. He’s also served as the cinematographer for projects such as JT Trinidad’s The River That Never Ends and Maria Estela Paiso’s Cinemalaya 2025 entry, Objects Do Not Randomly Fall From the Sky. His ongoing solo exhibition invites visitors to interact and experiment with his art installations, all of which trace Bico’s childhood memories and the reasons why he makes images. Combining pictures from his family’s sole photo album, along with meaningful videos that feature Bico’s persona Manikween and 25 pre-selected tracks programmed into a karaoke machine, Bico crafts a love letter to what is worth remembering.
Admission to “Pag-Alala Paghilom” is free and open to the public. Attendees can register here.
