Saguijo continues to be a hub for experimental sounds with Sound dEffects, a night built around left-field musicians testing boundaries. Noise-concrete solo project Soft Limit sets a raw and unpredictable tone, joined by the sprawling Merienda Jazz Collective, whose improvisations can veer from delicate to chaotic in a single breath. Psychedelic rock outfit Eazyhead and blues-punk group Josephine Bracken round out the lineup, making the night a collision of noise, groove, and unfiltered energy.

Coke Studio’s flagship live event ups the stakes with a wide-spanning bill that blends international headliners with homegrown stars. Cebu’s indie scene gets a shot in the arm with September Fever, a showcase of regional and international acts that prove the city’s reach extends well beyond its borders. Singapore’s Subsonic Eye brings their distinct brand of dream pop, while South Korean math rock band Dabda sharpens the night with intricate guitar work and shifting rhythms. Local acts keep the energy rooted, from Zeke Abella’s earnest songwriting to Cagayan de Oro’s Evita and the raw energy of rap collective Bakeshopboyz.

Mow’s Bar marks eleven years of being a cornerstone in Quezon City’s indie community with a bill that threads through different corners of the scene. Any Name’s Okay brings their polished pop edge, while Brickcity pushes the envelope with post-hardcore intensity. Kjwan adds veteran weight to the lineup, balancing the raw hunger of younger acts like rap group 25hearts and dream pop outfit The Purest Blue.

Hertz is a rising dance collective based in Baguio City that provides a safe, dedicated party space for FLINTAs (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Nonbinary, Trans, and Agender Individuals). Allies are welcome, but are asked to maintain the main dance floor for the FLINTAs. The collective’s latest social rave will include high-octane DJ sets from Cartfilling, Freqrelevant, Dignos, and Pette Shabu.

For the comic book lovers and pop culture nerds out there, this year’s SuperManila Comic Con promises to be a celebration of all of that, plus several exclusive releases and artist appearances. Comics royalty like Marvel Comics’ Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, Archie Comics’ writer and artist Dan Parent, and Marvel Comics’ Mike Zeck (best known for his work on Captain America and The Punisher) will all be in attendance, among others. Kid Heroes Publications’ Eraserheads: Combo on the Run # 1, based on the band’s documentary, will make its debut, as well as DC Comics’ first Philippine-exclusive cover, Absolute Flash #1.
