Every Heated Rivalry fan starved for content can now breathe a sigh of relief, because author Rachel Reid has just confirmed that a third Hollanov novel (or Hollanovel?) is on the way.
Unrivaled, the seventh and reportedly final installment of Reid’s Game Changers series, is set to come out September 29, and it’s already available for pre-order on Amazon either as a paperback, Audiobook, or Kindle edition.
“For the first time in their professional hockey careers, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander have nothing to hide,” the book’s official synopsis reads. “For more than a decade, they kept their love a secret, but now they’re out, married, and even playing on the same team. The support is incredible. Most of the time.”
It looks like our favorite hockey players are going to be up against some real haters in Unrivaled, as popular hockey podcast Top Shelf and the #TakeBackHockey movement threaten their careers.
Reid’s announcement comes at a time when fans around the world (specifically the gays and the fujoshis) are still basking in the afterglow of Heated Rivalry’s triumphant onscreen adaptation. Produced by Canadian streamer Crave with Jacob Tierney at the lead as series creator, Heated Rivalry tracks the long, steamy relationship between hockey rivals Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie). While the two might duke it out on the ice, things take a hot, horny turn behind closed doors.
Crave has confirmed an upcoming second season, although a release date has yet to be announced. However, in an interview with GQ, both Williams and Storrie confirmed that they’d signed on for three seasons of Heated Rivalry.
“Ilya and Shane have never left my brain,” wrote Reid in the FAQ section of her website, “so I think writing about them is inevitable… I could not be prouder or more honored to have written something that inspired this incredible show that is spreading joy all over the world.”
