The trailer for director Jun Robles Lana’s upcoming film, Sisa, has been released ahead of its March 4 release. The fictional period drama marks the return of actress Hilda Koronel, and sees her starring alongside Eugene Domingo and Sunshine’s Jennica Garcia.

Koronel’s last film was Olivia Lamasan’s 2012 film The Mistress, where her performance landed her the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2013 Luna Awards and a FAMAS nod.

Domingo previously starred in Lana’s 2013 film Mga Kuwentong Barbero, which was set in the Martial Law era. In Sisa, Lana returns to a rural Philippines, but now sets the stage at the end of the Filipino-American War. While not much else has been revealed in the trailer, Lana said on Instagram that the film explores “the mothering of a nation: the fierce, necessary commitment to teach our people how to resist and survive.”

The film made its world premiere at the 29th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia in November 2025.
