After almost 800 episodes, 36 seasons, a 2007 hit movie, and four more seasons already confirmed to drop, you’d think that The Simpsons developers Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, and Sam Simon would have run out of stories to tell in the world of Springfield.
But that is not the case: 20th Century Studios and Disney officially confirmed that The Simpsons Movie is getting a sequel, 20 years after its release.
Although the sequel’s plot details have yet to be announced, its release date has been set for July 23, 2027. An untitled Marvel movie was initially scheduled for release on the same date, but it has since been removed from Disney’s release schedule.
