On July 16, Glenfiddich presented the latest edition of Rolling Stone Philippines Social Club series, an invite-only dinner spotlighting the country’s boldest voices from across design, gastronomy, architecture, film, and more. Held at fine casual restaurant Eraya in San Juan, the night sparked fresh dialogue rooted in craft, creativity, and cultural disruption.
Guests were welcomed with a whisky flight from the Glenfiddich’s Grand Series. Introduced by Glenfiddich Brand Ambassador Madeline Ng, the Glenfiddich Grand Series, a beautifully disruptive series of single malts, celebrates the unexpected marriage of two traditional worlds to take luxury to a new level.
During the Rolling Stone Philippines Social Club, guests were treated to a five-course meal paired with three whiskies from the Glenfiddich Grand Series. The vibrant and peppery, finished in Caribbean Reserva rum cask Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Gran Reserva opened the dinner between the skewered pork and chicken meatballs with tare sauce, pickled jicama, and bottarga, and the sea bass prepared kobujime-style with miso sauce and mulberry veil and gastrique. This was followed by the rich 22 Year Old Gran Cortes with its layers of oak and deep vanilla sweetness that paired well with the 48-hour sous-vide short ribs, plated with jackfruit purée, black garlic jus, and beef floss. Finally, to cap off the night, the guests were treated to the 23 Year Old Grand Cru, a sweet and opulent whisky with notes of rich vanilla, sweet brioche, sandalwood, pear sorbet and white grape.
Rolling Stone Philippines publisher Anne Bernisca raised a toast to the guests who come from diverse creative disciplines, saying, “This night honors the work you do, the stories you tell, and the impact you make through your craft. At Rolling Stone Philippines, that’s what fuels us, too — to continue sharing the stories needing to be told.”
She added, “The craft behind the whisky-making process truly complements what we are celebrating tonight: artistry that’s bold, refined, and full of character. Thank you for believing in our vision.”
This is Glenfiddich’s second collaboration with Rolling Stone Philippines for this dinner series. The brand inaugurated the first Rolling Stone Philippines Social Club, which featured guests from the film, music, media, and journalism industries.
A Night of Artistry, Dialogue, and Discovery
The night’s guest list included cultural figures whose work continues to reshape the creative landscape: architects Sudar Khadka and Manolet Garcia, choreographer Madge Reyes, restaurateurs Trixie and Ed Bugia, and theater actor Phi Palmos. In one corner, Manila Community Radio’s Sean Bautista and Rolling Stone Philippines Digital Editor Sai Versailles caught up on Manila’s party scene and how changes in creative rhythm — from late nights to early meditations — reflect broader cultural shifts.
Elsewhere, filmmaker Erwin Romulo, Reyes, and Rolling Stone Philippines Chief of Editorial Content Jonty Cruz engaged in a conversation that explored experimental cinema, movement, and structural form.
Glenfiddich Grand Series: A Toast to Possibility
In contrast to the Rolling Stone Philippines’ first dinner, this edition cast a wider net, bringing together pioneers from multiple creative disciplines. Still, the goal remains the same: to ignite cross-industry conversations that challenge convention and move culture forward.
Through the Rolling Stone Philippines Social Club, Glenfiddich continues to create space for the curious and the driven, a community bound by a shared pursuit of excellence. More than a dinner series, the Rolling Stone Philippines Social Club is where visionaries gather, exchange ideas, and toast to what’s next. At the center of it all is Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky and a symbol of the courage to forge new paths.
