20 years after their first collaboration, British fashion designer and sustainability advocate Stella McCartney joins H&M once more for a new exclusive collection. The line, which is slated to launch in the spring, is a stylish testament to McCartney’s continuing dialogue on ethics and transparency in the fashion industry.

McCartney (yes, the daughter of The Beatles guitarist Paul McCartney) is known for her responsible luxury maverick status and penchant for sustainable innovation. Last Paris Fashion Week, the designer made waves for debuting plant-based feathers on the runway, which were reported to move with all the drama of real feathers while remaining animal cruelty-free. Her pieces can be found in the closets of fashion figures Emily Ratajkowski and Amelia Gray, beloved for their singular style.

Her latest collaboration with H&M carries on her legacy of sustainable fashion, bucking traditional textiles for lower-impact alternatives that avoid generating unnecessary waste. Ethical fashion enthusiasts will be excited to hear that the line is made chiefly from certified, recycled materials, proof that style doesn’t have to come at the cost of a living planet. Amid news of fast fashion’s role in fueling the global waste crisis, McCartney’s dedication to innovating design feels like a much-needed step towards the right direction.

“Stella is a true ground breaker,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor for H&M. “From the start, she disrupted fashion with designs that put forward a rule-breaking femininity. This collection is full of must-have pieces that nod to that legacy. Stella’s moral compass and tireless commitment to sustainable practices have long inspired all of us at H&M, so it’s an honour to partner with her on such an ambitious project.”

With McCartney, H&M reconceptualizes the idea of collaboration. Beyond a meeting of creative minds, the collection is also a breeding ground for impactful, long-lasting action and a platform to foster hope for the future.

McCartney’s latest collaboration introduces an “Insights Board,” a forum open to different stakeholders across the apparel value chain — from raw material suppliers to all the way to retailers — to brainstorm, ideate, and discuss how to make their industry more sustainable, ecological, and attuned to animal welfare.

Of her latest H&M collection, McCartney says, “This second partnership feels like a chance to look at how far we’ve come on sustainability, cruelty-free practices, and conscious designs — and to stay honest about how far we still have to go, together. I am thrilled to have H&M join me on this road; real change only happens when we push from both the outside and the inside, and I’ve always believed in infiltrating from within to move the industry forward.”

From London To The World

During the 2025 Fashion Awards in London, the world saw its first glimpse of the second H&M x Stella McCartney collection. Models, entrepreneurs, and artists such as Gray, Ratajkowski,  Anitta, Yasmin Wijnaldum, Bel Priestley, Alton Mason, and Kiara Nirghin donned pieces from the line, cutting through the carpet with McCartney’s design DNA: lace, sparkles, and striking nods to the early aughts.

“It was an honour to wear this amazing look and give people a sneak peek of the Stella McCartney H&M collection,” says Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta. “I felt amazing in red. This feels like another perfect match, between two very beloved brands.”
