The upcoming Brad Pitt-starring film, F1, just announced its soundtrack and it’s so stacked it could eclipse the film itself.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski – the same visual orchestrator behind Top Gun: Maverick — the movie centers on Pitt  as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula 1 legend dragged back to the grid to mentor rookie teammate Joshua Pearce for the fictional APXGP team. The film promises high octane and adrenaline-fueled action from its cinematography to its music.

The F1 soundtrack launched April 30 with “Lose My Mind,” a collaboration between Houston’s genre-blurring star Don Toliver and GRAMMY-winning powerhouse Doja Cat. But that’s just the starting lap. The full roster reads like a festival headliner: Ed Sheeran’s melodic precision, Burna Boy’s Afrofusion swagger, Rosé’s crystalline vocals, Tate McRae’s razor-sharp pop, and Tiësto’s stadium-ready beats. Add in curveballs like Sexyy Red’s unapologetic trap, Peggy Gou’s neon-lit house, and Chris Stapleton’s gravelly soul, and it’s clear this isn’t a haphazard playlist.

Recent years have reduced soundtracks to trailer fodder – songs chopped into forgettable snippets for creating a mood for mood’s sake. F1 flips that model. Here, artists aren’t just licensing tracks; they’re integral to the film’s identity.

RAYE’s haunting harmonies and Roddy Ricch’s kinetic flow suggest music that mirrors the sport’s tension and release. Even Dom Dolla’s pulsing electronic grooves feel engineered for pit-stop drama.
Overseeing this sonic pit crew is Kevin Weaver, the multi-GRAMMY-winning maestro behind Barbie The Album’s cultural takeover and the Fast & Furious franchise’s pulse. His track record such as The Greatest Showman’s theatrical grandeur and Twisters’ atmospheric tension hints at a soundtrack that’s more than accompaniment.

If the film captures half the audacity of its music, F1 won’t just race for box-office glory. It’ll lap the competition.
