Mitski will bring her music to Manila for the first time on July 14 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The concert is in support of her new album Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, set for release on February 27.

The Manila stop is also Mitski’s largest Southeast Asian show so far, with the arena’s capacity of an estimated 15,000, far exceeding the theaters and mid-sized venues she has played across the region in the tour’s current lineup. The tour’s regional stops include Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The scale of her Manila show is proof of her steady rise from cult indie favorite to one of the most resonant voices in contemporary songwriting.

Mitski first broke through with her raw and restless 2014 record Bury Me at Makeout Creek, where songs like “First Love / Late Spring” and “Francis Forever” paired distorted guitars with diaristic writing. Her later work widened both her sound and themes. Albums such as Be the Cowboy in 2018 and The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We in 2023 explored love, loneliness, fame, and longing through sharper pop structures and folk arrangements, producing career-defining tracks like “Nobody” and “My Love Mine All Mine.”

Presale tickets for the Manila concert go on sale February 13 at 10 a.m., with general sales expected to follow shortly after.
