Canadian riot grrrl and shoegaze siblings Softcult are heading back to Manila more than three years after their last performance in the Philippines. The duo is currently touring across the country, with the first leg happening in Baguio on June 11, followed by their June 12 show at 123Block, Mandala Park. Accompanying them are local openers who represent or straddle the line between shoegaze, dream pop, and punk, such as aunt robert, Tatz Maven, dreaming blue flowers from Manila, and &nd, who are coming all the way from Bacolod City.

Chinese shoegaze outfit Chestnut Bakery is finally making its Manila debut. The band is known for releasing intimate, fuzzy tracks, most notably from their 2015 debut album Diaries and songs such as “September” and “I Love You Mr Snowball.” The local openers include Please Eloise from Bacolod City, screamo outfit TNG, dream pop singer Megumi Acorda, and more.

Alternative rock band One Click Straight will be putting on their own fundraiser show, with most of the proceeds going toward their Mongolia trip. The band will be performing at Playtime Festival in Ulaanbaatar on July 2, where they will share the bill with Belarusian trio Molchat Doma, singer-songwriter duo Kings of Convenience, and South Korean alternative rock group Hyukoh.
