On March 12, online platform Weverse announced that two P-pop groups are joining the platform, as pioneering P-pop boy group SB19 and the Nation’s girl group BINI revealed their plans to debut their own artist communities. The South Korean “super-app” and digital platform developed by HYBE Corporation serves as a one-stop hub for artist-fan engagement, content streaming, and e-commerce since its launch back in 2019. The platform’s current scale is considerable, boasting more than 10 million active monthly users, 100 million cumulative downloads, and over 120 artist communities. It includes K-pop acts like BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, and global stars such as Ariana Grande.
More artists like Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, and Conan Gray have also helped expand the platform’s reach. Its reach among audiences has become increasingly visible during major artist moments. In 2024, Jin of BTS spoke to fans after completing his 18-month military duty; his initial livestream briefly crashed before returning online and drawing more than two million views for a few minutes.
With SB19 and BINI joining the platform, the expansion signals a new chapter for the country’s P-pop scene within the global fan community. SB19’s official Weverse launch is set for March 19, while BINI will debut their community on March 16. Members are expected to publish messages and exclusive content while fans leave comments directly on posts, adding another layer of closeness and interaction on the platform.
