KPop Demon Hunters wins its second Oscar.
At the 98th Academy Awards, Netflix’s most popular film of all time took home the Oscar for Best Original Song for its single, “Golden.” The song, which sat atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-breaking five weeks upon its release, beat out nominated tracks from Sinners, Viva Verdi!, Train Dreams, and Diane Warren: Relentless.
The team behind the track’s music and lyrics includes EJAE, Mark Sonnenblick, Joong Gyu Kwak, Yu Han Lee, Hee Dong Nam, Jeong Hoon Seo, and Teddy Park. The group walked onto the stage to accept the award.
“This award is not about success,” said EJAE during her acceptance speech, “it’s about resilience.”
Earlier in the ceremony, KPop Demon Hunters earned its first Oscar, receiving the honor for Best Animated Feature Film.
