Liza Soberano is stepping into the thriller genre with her upcoming movie, Imprint.

The actress is set to executive produce the film, which will be directed by Marie Jamora. Jamora started her career as a filmmaker in the Philippines, directing music videos (such as Itchyworms’s “Love Team” and Sandwich’s “Sugod”) and Project Runway Philippines. After the 2012 release of her directorial feature film, Ang Nawawala at the Cinemalaya film festival, Jamora has since transitioned to helming projects in the United States, including episodes of shows like Fox’s The Cleaning Lady and The Resident.

Imprint, with a script written by Charlene Sawit-Esguerra (Saving Sally), will center on a Filipino-American woman who uses psychic abilities to track down a serial killer.

Although a release date for the film has yet to be announced, Soberano is also set to star in the upcoming Dreamworks animated film, Forgotten Island, which premieres in Philippine cinemas later this September. She will voice the lead character Raissa, joining a Filipino-focused cast that includes H.E.R., Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, and more.
