The Filipino Music Awards (FMAs) 2026 returned for its second year on October 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with BingoPlus joining the celebration of OPMOPMShort for Original Pilipino Music, the broad body of songs written and performed by Filipino artists, from kundiman and folk ballads to rock, pop, and hip-hop. Presented in partnership with BingoPlus, the Star of the Night Award allowed audiences to participate in the live voting process to recognize the artist who made the most memorable statement on the FMAs red carpet.
P-Pop girl group KAIA, who was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, People’s Choice Artist, and Pop Song of the Year for “Hulog,” took home the BingoPlus Star of the Night Award.
At the red carpet, KAIA wore coordinated silver and white intricately embellished ensembles. The styling gave the five-member group a unified look while maintaining individual distinctions across each member’s outfit.
The group stood among a roster of artists who brought their own interpretations of the FMAs’ Gilded Red Carpet theme to the event. Other nominees for Star of the Night included P-Pop acts YGIG and Alamat, solo performers Angela Ken, Maki, Morissette, Zoe, and Nicole Ascensio, as well as groups The Juans and Baby Dolls. Their participation reflected the range of artists who gathered for this year’s ceremony, which brought together performers across genres and stages of their careers.
As part of BingoPlus’ commitment to investing in Filipino creativity, they also presented the Music Foundation of the Year Award to the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPMOPMShort for Original Pilipino Music, the broad body of songs written and performed by Filipino artists, from kundiman and folk ballads to rock, pop, and hip-hop. As part of the recognition, BingoPlus President Jasper Vicencio personally awarded OPM a P100,000 check on stage.
The Star of the Night and Music Foundation of the Year Award recognized artists and the organization that keeps the industry on its feet. On top of these recognitions, guests were also treated to BingoPlus’ interactive corner on the 2nd floor of the Arena, which featured a live color game-inspired booth where guests could experience and win prizes.
The partnership between the FMAs and BingoPlus gave a versatile platform for BingoPlus to be able to give fans an opportunity to take a more immersive part in the event by voting for their favorite artist for the Star of the Night and becoming part of an added experience through its booth and giveaways.
Vicencio described this partnership with the FMAs as their commitment to create bigger platforms for Filipino talent. He emphasized their goal to support, rather than define, the culture shaped by the artists and communities that make up Filipino entertainment.
“For the brand, this is not just a collaboration for us. It is an investment in personal trust that we give to Filipino creativity, culture, and the people who continue to move our entertainment industry forward,” he says.
The Filipino Music Awards continues to celebrate the many ways Filipino artists command attention and build connections with their audience. From the live performances, red carpet moments, activity booths, and giveaways, it continues to bring together and give recognition to the people contributing to the country’s evolving music scene.
