Days after its theatrical release in the United States, the Elizabeth Holmes You Can See Everything now boasts a Rotten Tomatoes score of 98 percent and stands as the highest-rated film on Letterboxd with an average of 4.7 stars. Critics and audiences alike are raving about Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s co-directed project, but with Sony only recently acquiring worldwide distribution rights, it looks like Filipino fans can’t see the film just yet.

The trails Holmes in her last month of freedom before going to prison in 2023 for wire fraud, which brought down her health tech company, Theranos. The documentary also follows her partner, businessman Billy Evans, with whom she has two children.

Holmes occupies a place in as a fraudster who fooled investors into shelling out millions of dollars for her company, making her an intriguing subject for Fielder and Oppenheim. In their own works, the two filmmakers have tackled reality and the ways it can be constructed and distorted. For example, Oppenheim’s Primetime dramatizes the production of Chris Hansen’s controversial sting program, To Catch a Predator. Fielder, meanwhile, is known for writing and directing satirical shows like Nathan For You, The Rehearsal, and The Curse.

While our fingers remain crossed for an official announcement for local screenings of You Can See Everything, we get acquainted with Fielder’s work and his brand of surreal comedy.

‘Nathan For You’

In this Comedy Central series, which ran from 2013 to 2017, Fielder plays a fictionalized version of himself and takes on the role of a consultant offering outlandish advice to struggling business owners. One of the first season’s most memorable episodes is “The Claw of Shame,” where he tries to prove himself a bullish risk-taker by attempting to free himself from a pair of handcuffs before a robotic claw undoes his pants in front of a group of children, which would make him a registered sex offender.

The second season of Nathan For You is also full of gems, like the line “I hope you’re hungry… for nothing” (which has been turned into a audio), and the “Dumb Starbucks” stunt that many had speculated was British street artist Banksy’s work.

‘The Rehearsal’

The Rehearsal extends Fielder’s work as a pseudo-business consultant to the more personal and intimate. In this HBO series, Fielder helps people rehearse for difficult conversations using elaborate sets and hired actors, at one point even building a replica of Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport on a soundstage for the second season. Fielder spends much of Season 1, released in 2022, helping a woman named Angela prepare for motherhood by pretending to co-parent a child, Adam, who ends up confusing reality with his work as an actor and calling Fielder “daddy.”

In Season 2, released in 2025, Fielder reaches new heights by focusing on improving pilot communication. Throughout the season, he inadvertently becomes an advocate for aviation safety and pilots’ mental health. Could his work have led to the U.S. Senate’s approval of the John A. Hauser Mental Health in Aviation Act in September? Maybe.

‘The Curse’

Emma Stone and Benny Safdie join Fielder in this Showtime series about a couple (Stone and Fielder) trying to have a baby while they run their fictional HGTV show Fliplanthropy. As the couple faces accusations of gentrifying the city of Española, New Mexico, a young girl curses the couple, driving them to paranoia. Safdie, who co-wrote the show, also stars as their .

As expected, Fielder puts his own character, Asher, in the wackiest and most bizarre situations, like making penis jokes in a comedy class and coming across strips of raw chicken in the bathroom of a fire station (he also believes that chicken is part of the curse).
