From January 17 to 19, 2025, over a dozen Filipino artists will be part of Art SG — an international art fair known for platforming visionary contemporary art from the region and globally — at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Among the Art SG 2025’s 105 exhibitors from 30 countries and territories are Manila-based galleries Artinformal and The Drawing Room, which will show works by artists Kristoffer Ardeña, Pope Bacay, Zean Cabangis, Jigger Cruz, Monica Delgado, JC Jacinto, Ged Merino, Diokno Pasilan, and Cian Dayrit.
Meanwhile, several other works by renowned Filipino artists Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera, Leslie de Chavez, Marina Cruz, Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Elmer Borlongan, and Ayka Go will be shown at Gajah Gallery and Ames Yavuz, both of which have a presence in Singapore, and separately in Indonesia and Australia respectively.
Singapore’s annual celebration of the visual arts, Art SG’s lineup boasts modern and contemporary art titans Gagosian White Cube, Thaddaeus Ropac, and Lehmann Maupin among others.
For this edition, Art SG also partnered with four cultural institutions: Bangkok Kunsthalle, Delfina Foundation, M Art Foundation, and Art Outreach. They will each lend their curatorial expertise for a film, video art, and moving image section; a series of programs around collecting, philanthropy, and creating private foundations; an exhibition on M Art Foundation’s guiding principles and thematic concerns; and a visual arts summit with a panel of experts.
Singapore, Asia’s Budding Art Center
Art SG which was first launched in 2023 and is now in its third edition. Its first two editions spotlighted local, regional, and international galleries through a program of commissioned and site-specific installations, experimental film, thought-provoking talks, and performances.
Its third edition will coincide with Singapore Art Week, an annual celebration of visual arts that takes place in January. 2025 also marks the nation’s 60th year of independence.
The international art fair is the latest in a slew of international art events being established in several key art markets in Asia.
