Steel yourself for one of the most anticipated dramas of the year, because Until She Remembers has just announced its release date.
Directed by Brillante Mendoza, the first Filipino to win Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival, Until She Remembers centers on a high school student (Barbie Forteza) who avoids her chaotic parents by spending time with her grandmother (Charo Santos-Concio) and her friend (Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo). While more details about the plot have yet to be announced, production company Solar Pictures has described it as “a poignant story of selflessness, sacrifice, and the quiet, enduring meaning of love.”
The recently released teaser centers on the three women reciting Pablo Neruda’s “Tonight I can write the saddest lines.” If the poem is meant to offer any clues, it may be pointing to a story dipped in grief, loss, and love, which the film’s three leading women are more than capable of bringing to life on the big screen.
Until She Remembers also stars Angel Aquino, Albert Martinez, Eric Quizon, Vince Rillon, Erlinda Villalobos, and more.
It is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on February 25.
