There’s something so intimate about hearing Jamie Campbell Bower call you gorgeous while he chokes you out in the middle of an empty library. The same goes for Manny Jacinto whispering how hot you are while he sneaks up on you in the shower, or Tom Blyth groaning into your ear while you’re curled on his lap, or Andrew Scott moaning into you while you’re sitting on a royal throne. Your favorite actors and their voices are one step closer to getting you hot and heavy, thanks to the audio erotica app, Quinn.

Quinn started in 2021, after its founder, Caroline Spiegel (sister of Snapchat creator Evan Spiegel), was scrolling through Tumblr and Reddit for audio porn after experiencing a loss in sexual libido. “Visual erotic content made me feel more disconnected,” said Spiegel in an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter. “[Audio erotica] was rooted in storytelling and imagination, and it didn’t trigger comparison. If audio could do that for me, I thought many others might be looking for the same thing.”

Spiegel was right: Quinn has steadily become one of the most recognizable audio erotica apps, having raised $13.5 million in venture capital, according to Vanity Fair. This fame is in part due to its star-studded cast of narrators. Actors such as Andrew Scott, Manny Jacinto, and Chris Briney have all taken to the mic to whisper directly into your ear, and their storylines (or Quinn Originals) can range from mildly vanilla to hardcore smut.

You, dear listener, “play” their respective romantic interests, although you don’t have to do much — your character is silent throughout all Quinn Originals, and the celebrity voice actors are there to tell you what to do (or what they’re doing to you).

What’s more, each Quinn Original comes with its own unique script, so you could be stealing diamonds and making out with Lucien Laviscount one night, and then practicing the piano and going down on Blyth the next. As Bower once aptly put it, Quinn is like “fan fiction coming to life a bit more.”

It can get a little overwhelming deciding which Quinn Original to listen to first, particularly if you’re unsure whether you want to start with a gentle, fluff-heavy storyline or if you want to get right into the freaky deaky with the actor of your choice. We’ve taken the liberty of listening to all of them for you and ordering them based on how horny they can get.

So here, for your ears only, are the ranked Quinn Originals and what each horned-up episode has in store for you. Enjoy.

11. ‘The Misty Door’ voiced by Jesse Williams

Spice level: 1.7/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? Yes
For those who like: slow burns, bookish nerds, faeries, cheesy strip dances, soft sex

If there’s one word I’d use to sum up Jesse Williams’ first dalliance with Quinn, it would be “vanilla.” This isn’t a bad thing, especially if you’ve never dipped your toes into the world of audio porn and need a tender, blue-eyed gentleman to make your ears tingle for the first time. But if you’re hoping for something rougher, sexier, and hornier, then The Misty Door isn’t for you.

Williams plays softboy extraordinaire Solstice Starr (yes, that’s his name), a faerie changeling who runs an indie bookstore and falls in love with one of his favorite customers, Azra Cunningham (you).

Sex-wise, things move slowly in The Misty Door, particularly because your character Azra, has never let herself indulge in “her own pleasure” before. Although you and Solstice share a long first kiss by the end of the first act, you have to wait an agonizing half-episode later before Solstice does anything more with you. And, in between sexy times, it’s a lot of him gushing over cotton candy, geeking out over books with you, and saying your full name way too much. You eventually do get a strip tease from Solstice, albeit a cheesy one, and when the two of you finally do the deed (excuse me, “make love”), Solstice’s long drawl of “good girl” is enough to tip anyone over. There’s just a lot of fluff to get through before the grand, wet finale.

10. ‘The Inventor’s Apprentice’ voiced by Thomas Doherty

Spice level: 2.2/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? Yes, but with a little bit of caution
For those who like: Heavy time travel plots, slow burns, voyeurism, handjobs in the park, time machine sex, obedient men, face-sitting

Disney actor Thomas Doherty is all grown up, and he’s doing much more now than playing Captain Hook’s son, as in Descendants 2 and 3. In The Inventor’s Apprentice, Doherty takes on the role of sexually repressed time traveler Horatio Godkin, who is on a quest to find the perfect research assistant to travel time with.

You, obviously, are that research assistant, and you go by the name of Arabella Bellamy (who’s coming up with these names?). You travel through time together, visiting major moments such as the height of Ancient Rome and New York at the turn of the 21st century. But the two of you also travel back to all the times that you, Arabella Bellamy, got down and dirty with all of your past sexual partners, which only makes Horatio want you even more. You also give him a squishy quickie in the middle of a park (gasp, think of the children!), and you manage to get nasty in his tight little time machine.

Like The Misty Door, there’s a lot of plot going on in The Inventor’s Apprentice, and that can deter some freaky listeners from finishing all three of its episodes. But the series rewards you with a good dose of hand-heavy foreplay, making it a little easier to get to the parts where you and Horatio finally enter the Bone Zone.

9. ‘The Regent’ voiced by Lucien Laviscount

Spice level: 2.4/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? Yes, but with some caution
For those who like: Cocky men, rivals to lovers, bondage, voyeurism, lots of teasing

Although The Regent roughly has the same spice levels as The Inventor’s Apprentice, I ranked it just a little bit higher, mainly because of its storyline. Emily in Paris’ Lucien Laviscount plays Peter Kelly, a notorious jewel thief who’s out to make one last big heist: stealing the Regent Diamond.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), Peter’s not the only one looking for the diamond. You play Katerina Laszlo, also known as The Great Kat, and the two of you end up bumping into each other again and again as you try to pull off the same crime.

Look, you’re both hot, sneaky, and bossy with a capital B, making the tension between the two of you boil over as early as the first episode. Steamy moments include being crammed together in a tiny wardrobe, intimate dancing, and a scene involving handcuffs, with Peter guiding you through one of the wettest moments of the series. What’s more, it’s almost as if Laviscount’s baritone voice was made for audio erotica, because he knows exactly when to grunt for you to reach your breaking point. Yum.

8. ‘Amplified’ voiced by Kate Moennig

Spice level: 2.9/5
Pairing: F/F
Can you listen to this in public? Yes, but you will be uncomfortable
For those who like: Older, grumpy women, edging, toys, stage sex

An angry woman chopping wood? Hot. And that’s exactly the type of energy Kate Moennig, star of that early-aughts queer drama The L Word, gives in Amplified

Moennig voices Sam Shaw, a rough-around-the-edges former rockstar who’s taken up life as a recluse on her ranch in Montana. You, a ghostwriter named Lola Baldwin, have been tasked with writing Sam’s memoir, but you’ll have to work extra hard to pry her old secrets out of her.

It’s a shame that there aren’t too many lesbian Quinn Original stories yet, because Amplified gets a lot of those yummy and yearning-filled sapphic tropes down pat. Besides having you ride a horse bareback with Sam, visit a sexy mechanic together, and experiment with a bunch of toys (all of which were wonderfully hot scenes), Amplified also delves into the longing between you and Sam: the uncertainty about each other’s feelings, the threat of past lovers, and the fear of not being loved in return. It may sound sappy on paper, but all that romantic tension crescendoes in the final episode, which features a lot of heavy riding atop a very hard concert stage. Your poor knees.

7. ‘The Queen’s Guard’ voiced by Andrew Scott

Spice level: 3.2/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? Yes, but you will be very uncomfortable
For those who like: Knights in shining armor, sexually charged sword fights, exes to enemies to lovers, begging, throne-fucking

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Andrew Scott, the Hot Priest of Fleabag himself, can turn even the most pious of us into a Horned-Up Horn Dog. And in The Queen’s Guard, where he plays the monarch’s most loyal knight, Scott does not disappoint.

As Robb the Protector, Scott excels at playing a troubled, brooding knight who must choose between defending his queen and running away with his old flame, Mira (you), who now leads the people’s resistance.

While there are moments when the plot does begin to drag, especially when Robb is slowly realizing that the kingdom is crumbling under Her Majesty’s reign, there’s so much foreplay that it’s best to enjoy The Queen’s Guard indoors. Halfway through the first episode, Robb pins you against the wall and grinds against you while kissing his way down your neck. By the end of Episode 2, you’re doing unspeakable things on the queen’s throne, and it’s more than clear that Robb has switched allegiances now that he’s on his knees. And Episode 3, once all the sexy swordfighting is over, is essentially celebratory sex after the resistance takes over the kingdom.

6. ‘Hidden Harbor’ voiced by Chris Briney

Spice level: 3.4/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? No
For those who like: Surfer boys, beach towns, love triangles, surf hut sex, lap grinding, praise kink

Playing a little bit on his character from The Summer I Turned Pretty, Chris Briney stars as River, a writer who’s returned to his small beach town for the summer to teach surf lessons by day, and bartend at the local dive bar by night. Cue imagining his strong, toned arms paddling out to a wave or wiping down tables.

He meets Drea (you) one night at work, and the two of you immediately start flirting and talking about your cheating ex. Things take a heated turn when, after walking you home, River pins you to your front door and starts a steamy make-out session. But oh no! Your ex-boyfriend arrives unannounced, and he turns out to be River’s older brother.

Although Hidden Harbor has the most realistic storyline out of all the Quinn Originals (no time travel sex or fae-fucking here!), it’s definitely one of the Originals on the hotter side. This is in part due to Briney’s ability to growl, groan, and whisper at just the right moments while he and you get down and dirty in a surf hut. Do I wish that Hidden Harbor also included sex on the beach? Yes, but at least the sounds of the roaring ocean waves in the background help you get there faster.

5. ‘Hyperdrive’ voiced by Manny Jacinto

Spice level: 3.6/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? No
For those who like: Shower sex, rough masturbation, voyeurism, sci-fi, tragic endings

Hyperdrive might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s mainly because of its heavy sci-fi jargon and convoluted storyline about memories becoming a form of currency. But we’re not here for any of that: we’re here for Manny Jacinto.

The star of The Good Place and The Acolyte takes on his sexiest role yet in Hyperdrive, where he plays memory technician Kai, who begins to notice gaps in his own memories. Things get a little messy from here, but just remember that Kai’s essentially jumping into sexy memories that aren’t his. At one point, he becomes addicted to his co-worker Natalya’s memories, playing scenes of her getting off in the shower over and over again. He also meets a mysterious woman named Rei (voiced by you), and the two of you have some spectacularly wet shower sex, complete with running water noises in the background and Kai’s tongue making its way into your ear (he may have a thing for showers).

Hyperdrive is one of those Quinn Originals that’s so heavy on sex sounds that it’s impossible to multitask while listening to Jacinto moan and heave into your ear. If you’re the type to put Quinn on in the background, might I suggest not doing that with Hyperdrive

4. ‘The Muse’ voiced by Tom Blyth

Spice level: 3.8/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? No
For those who like: Teacher/student, forbidden romance, the thrill of getting caught, piano bench sex, praise kink, body worship

If you’re partial to Regency era romances and the thrill of a slightly skewed power dynamic, The Muse may be your Quinn Original of choice. Here, Tom Blyth (The Gilded Age, People We Meet on Vacation) stars as William, a composer who’s fallen on hard times. He is hired by the eccentric Lord Haddington to teach his daughter, Aurelia (you), how to play the piano. What William doesn’t know is that you have been the creative muse he’s been searching for.

Although most Quinn Originals have some sort of praise kink thrown into their scripts, it shines the brightest in The Muse. Many of your stolen moments with William involve him repeatedly telling you how gorgeous you are, how talented you are, and how much better you are than all the other women of your high social standing. Your toes will curl when he calls you his goddess, and by the time he pulls you into his lap on his piano bench, he’s left no doubt about the perfection that is you.

3. ‘Ember & Ice’ voiced by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie

Spice level: 4.3/5
Pairing: M/M
Can you listen to this in public? NO
For those who like: Fae princes, daddy issues, forbidden romance, pond sex, forced proximity, threesomes-ish, anal

Capitalizing on the global fever dream that is Heated Rivalry, this Quinn Original puts leading men Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie into another hot, BL romance.

In Ember & Ice, they star as Finn and Dane respectively, two fae princes from feuding courts (think Romeo and Juliet, but with more anal). Dane, the most wayward prince of the Solari court, is sent off to get whipped into shape by Finn, the golden boy of the Lunare kingdom. After a romantic flying session and a passionate handjob by a hidden pond, the two end up slapping cheeks in Finn’s king-sized bed. Unfortunately, their romance is cut short when their two kingdoms go to war against each other, and they must wait five more years before they can see each other again off the battlefield.

Unlike the other Quinn Originals, Ember & Ice is a non-participatory affair. This means that you, dear listener, are not taking part in any of the aforementioned cock-sucking and ass-railing. For some, especially those who just finished Heated Rivalry and need more Shane and Ilya content, there’s nothing wrong with listening to the boys figure out the joys of butt stuff together. However, if you’re someone who needs to feel like they’re an active member of the sausagefest, then you may leave Ember & Ice feeling a little more than disappointed.

2. ‘Compromised’ voiced by Victoria Pedretti

Spice level: 4.4/5
Pairing: F/F
Can you listen to this in public? NO
For those who like: Hot spies, enemies to lovers, window sex, praise kink, bondage, toys, begging

Spies are, and always will be, a sexy career choice, and Victoria Pedretti (You, The Haunting of Hill House) turns the sex drive up high as Agent Andie Jones in Compromised.

You, a tourist named Zara Lyken, crash into Andie at the baggage claim of Newark Airport, where she’s trying to recover a backpack that she believes contains a hard drive with stolen data. You leave the airport with her bag by mistake, and she with yours, resulting in the two of you meeting up at your hotel to make the exchange. But what starts as a quick tradeoff turns into you touching yourself for Andie while she watches from a nearby window, a slow fingering session where she has you begging for more, and an interrogation scene that involves you tied to a chair and the spy putting on a strap to make sure you answer all her questions.

Compromised is almost the ideal amount of sex and tension, save for a few missteps with the script. There’s a sudden plot reveal that comes much too soon after you get fingered, and when the two of you fall off the interrogation chair after things get too heated, it’s so comical that it almost ruins the mood. But other than these minor, nitpicky faux pas, this is a Quinn Original that is quick to get you there.

1. ‘The Trials’ and ‘The Trials: Winter Solstice’ voiced by Jamie Campbell Bower

Spice level: 4.6/5
Pairing: M/F
Can you listen to this in public? ABSOLUTELY NOT
For those who like: Magic, enemies to lovers, dominant men, possessive men, library teasing, one bed, praise kink, toys, edging, choking, spanking, submissive men

The first time I heard Jamie Campbell Bower whisper how proud he was of me while pinning me against a library shelf, I sobbed.

The star of Stranger Things and The Mortal Instruments has played dominant, growling characters many times, and he uses his God-given gift to his advantage in The Trials and its follow-up, The Trials: Winter Solstice. Bower plays Theo Deschamps, heir to a powerful magical legacy. When he receives an invitation to compete for a place in the Black Ravens, an exclusive secret society, Theo believes that the spot is rightfully his. Unfortunately, he meets his match in the form of Jane (you), a hardworking, albeit slightly sexually repressed, witch from a middle-class family. The two of you join forces to get through the competition’s trials faster, but this only means that you’re spending a lot of time in close quarters with one another. Besides a rough make-out in an empty library, The Trials also includes an intimate sleeping bag tête-à-tête and a passionate celebratory love-making session that sees the arrogant nepo baby take charge.

The Trials: Winter Solstice continues to explore your relationship with Theo, but experiments with the established power dynamics. Here, we see a Theo that is significantly more submissive and much more willing to be edged in loud, public bathrooms than he would have been in The Trials. There’s also a lot more possessiveness involved, as an annoying Black Ravens inductee named Gregory is constantly trying to steal you away from Theo.

There’s also more talk about true love in this follow-up now that you and Theo have been dating for a while, so if you’re someone who needs an emotional connection to make the sex feel better, then Winter Solstice may be the better Quinn Original for you.
