The fourth season of the financial drama Industry is hitting HBO Max on Sunday in the US and Monday in the Philippines. And if you’re not on board yet, then you should definitely strap in now, as critics continue to shower the series with acclaim ahead of its release.
Written by former investment bankers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, Industry surrounds a group of young graduates who compete for limited full-time spots at the fictional prestigious investment bank Pierpoint & Co. in London. While the show boasts an ensemble cast, much of the drama is anchored on the mercurial frenemy dynamic of Myha’la’s Harper Stern, a brilliant American graduate with a humble background, and Marisa Abela’s Yasmin Kara-Hanani, a less talented (“I speak seven languages!”) but equally ambitious graduate whose parents run a publishing empire. And throughout each season, Harper, Yasmin, and Industry’s other characters navigate Pierpoint’s harsh trading floor and London’s rugged political landscape using sex, drugs, and wit — either as coping mechanisms or as weapons.
Who’s Who
What makes Industry so great is its sharply written characters. Despite all being motivated by money and power, each personality feels like their own kind of unhinged and intense, and every performance from the ensemble cast is a masterclass in acting.
This season, Abela, who won Best Leading Actress at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards for her performance in the show, and Myha’la return as Yasmin and Harper. We also expect to see Ken Leung’s Eric Tao, a vicious Pierpoint managing director who makes a protégé out of Harper; Sagar Radia’s misogynistic, foul-mouthed market maker Rishi Ramdani; Miriam Petche’s Sweetpea Golightly, who joined the show in season three as a preppy and intelligent new graduate; and Kit Harington’s Henry Muck, introduced in the last season as the wealthy and temperamental owner of Lumi, a fledgling green energy company.
Unfortunately, Harry Lawtey will not return as the endearing Robert Spearing due to scheduling conflicts, according to Deadline. But the new additions to Industry’s cast might just make up for Lawtey’s heartbreaking departure.
New Company, New Drama
This season introduces Tender, a payment processing company in its growth phase, and with it, a new set of characters and a lot of questions about what comes next for our beloved, greedy capitalists.
Joining the cast are Max Minghella, Charlie Heaton, Kiernan Shipka, and Kal Penn. Minghella and Penn play Whitney Halberstram and Jay Jonah Atterbury, the company’s co-founders, and Shipka plays their executive assistant, Haley Clay.
In one Industry teaser, Shipka is seen getting frisky with Heaton — fresh off the final season of Stranger Things — in the club. But here’s the kicker: he plays Jim Dycker, a financial journalist investigating Tender.
What’s Dycker up to? Should we be worried about Tender? How does it fit into the freaky, funny, drama-filled world of Industry? And after hearing Joji, Donna Summer, and Pet Shop Boys in past seasons, what excellent needle drops can we look forward to?
Don’t let the finance jargon intimidate you; Industry seasons one to three are available for streaming on HBO Max, and season four premieres in the Philippines on Monday, January 12.
