Kanye West has locked in a release date for his next album, Bully, on January 28. According to a Rolling Stone source, West has signed a partnership deal with independent music company Gamma to release the project on March 20. Bully will mark his first traditional studio album rollout in years. The financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed.
The announcement comes after a January 25 full-page Wall Street Journal advertisement placed by West as a public apology for years of antisemitic remarks. The timing of the apology immediately sparked speculation online. Fans questioned whether the public remorse signaled another album cycle, a pattern that has followed several of his past controversies.
A press release obtained by Rolling Stone describes Bully as an album centered on themes of remorse, memory, ego, faith, and consequence. West reportedly views the record as an exercise in storytelling rather than an attempt at “public redemption.”
West previously shared an early version of Bully in 2025 as a short film that he directed, with longtime collaborator Hype Williams handling editing. His last solo full-length album, Donda 2, was released in 2022 via the Stem Player before receiving an edited release in 2025 on his own label, YZY. His albums Vultures 1 and Vultures 2, a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, were released on streaming platforms in 2024 by YZY.
