band Parokya ni Edgar and rappers Flow G and Skusta Clee closed out the Filipino Music Awards (FMAs) with their biggest hits at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on October 6. Flow G performed his most recent single, “FEED X CORTEX,” with flame projectors, flashing visuals, and matching choreography onstage. His double-time rapping delivery and stage presence warmed up the crowd before the next performer, Skusta Clee, entered the stage with “Lason,” gracing the SM MOA Arena stage with his signature vocal belting and rap skills. Flow G and Skusta Clee eventually came together to perform their chart-topping single, “Since Day One,” which also won Song of the Year and Hip-hop Song of the Year at this year’s FMAs.

The night was capped off by seminal band Parokya ni Edgar, with vocalist Chito Miranda, rhythm guitarist Gab Chee Kee, lead guitarist Darius Semana, bassist Buwi Meneses, drummer Dindin Moreno, and backing vocalist Vinci Montaner. They opened their set with their 1999 hit “Inuman Na,” with Miranda going offstage to prompt the crowd to come closer. The band then amped up the energy with “Halaga,” another track from their 1999 album Gulong Itlog Gulong, with Kamikazee vocalist Jay Contreras taking over as a surprise guest vocalist by the second half of the song.

Parokya ni Edgar then started the iconic countdown from “Bagsakan,” their 2005 hit single with Gloc-9 and Francis Magalona, the latter of whom was posthumously awarded the Tribute Award. The band brought out guest performers Francis M’s son Elmo Magalona and Flow G, who took over the verses effortlessly.
