Filipino groups BINI and SB19 have submitted their music for consideration in multiple categories at the 69th Grammy Awards.

BINI submitted in three categories such as the Best New Artist, Best Song Written for Visual Media for “A Parallel World” from the Forgotten Island , and Best Asian Pop Music Performance for “Unang Kilig.” While SB19 submitted two in Best Asian Pop Music Performance for “VISA” and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Lawless.” Both groups have also hit milestones this year. BINI made their Coachella debut in April, and SB19 made their Lollapalooza debut in July.

It has not been publicly confirmed which other artists submitted music in those Grammy Awards categories.

Last July, groups like BTS announced they would not submit music for consideration, posting on each member’s Instagram story, “We hope music can be heard and embraced for what it is, beyond region or language.”

Stray Kids have also joined BTS in not submitting, as confirmed by their management, JYP Entertainment. According to the Korea Herald, member Seungmin said the group would rather focus on making music than “chasing” awards.

The 69th Grammy Awards is scheduled to air live at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on February 7, Sunday.
