SEVENTEEN announced that all 13 members have renewed their exclusive contracts, making the surprise reveal during their “New_” world tour encore concert on April 5 at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. The show was the finale of a seven-month run and signals a temporary pause in full-group activities as other members are in military service, and more are expected to enlist this year.
Group leader S.Coups said that the decision reflects the band’s sense of kinship and loyalty. “As a result of deep discussions among the members, all 13 of us have decided to renew our contracts. We will row forward together in the same ship.” Even as the group is in a period where not all members are present, SEVENTEEN has shown their commitment to each other and to their CARAT fanbase.
Nine members performed at the concert, with Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi currently enlisted, while Mingyu and DK are expected to enlist soon, although their talent agency PLEDIS are yet to make an official announcement. Other members, such as Joshua, Vernon, The8, and Jun, are not eligible due to their citizenship, while S.Coups was exempted from military service due to a knee injury back in 2024.
This coming June 21, fans are already looking forward to SEVENTEEN’s 10th fan meeting, “SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND,” at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, where they can expect live performances, games, and Q&A sessions with the group.
Last March 21, the Philippines was their final stop for the “NEW_” world tour in the Philippine Sports Stadium.
SEVENTEEN first held their own concert in the Philippines in 2016 with “Shining Diamond,” then in 2017 for their “Diamond Edge” tour, followed by “Ideal Cut” in 2018 and “Ode to You” in 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena. After the pandemic, they returned for “Be the Sun” in 2022 at the Philippine Arena, they came back two years after for their “Follow” tour in 2024 and “Right Here” tour in 2015 at the Philippine Sports Stadium.
