On March 21, Eraserheads, the Philippines’ most iconic rock band, announced their very own music festival: Eraserheads: Electric Fun Music Festival. The announcement came as a surprise teaser at the end of their documentary, Eraserheads: Combo: On The Run, rewarding fans who stayed through the credits with a glimpse of what’s to come.

But that wasn’t the only treat. A snippet of a new song played during the credits, sparking speculation that fresh material might be on the horizon. Who says living legends can’t keep creating?

Since their rise in the 1990s, Eraserheads have been masters of surprise, and this festival is no exception. Known for their Easter egg-filled performances overseas, the band is set to pull out all the stops for their home country crowd.

Combo on the Run chronicles the band’s journey from their humble beginnings at UP Diliman’s Molave Residence Hall dormitory in 1989 to their triumphant reunion shows post-pandemic in 2022. The documentary peels back the layers of their storied career, revealing the controversies, myths, and drama that defined their legacy. But more than anything, it’s a testament to their resilience and enduring bond as four friends with a deep passion for music.

Now, it seems the Eraserheads are making up for lost time. After years of silence and speculation, they’re back with nothing to lose, and this festival is just the beginning. The Electric Fun Music Festival is set to take place on May 31, 2025, at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Pasay City. While details are still under wraps, early bird tickets will go on sale exclusively via PalawanPay starting March 24.
