After 25 years of defining Filipino music with his acoustic ballads and heartfelt lyrics, Johnoy Danao is ready to take the stage like never before. On March 14 to 15 at the Metropolitan Theater (MET) in Manila, the acclaimed singer-songwriter will be performing his first ever solo concert, Liwayway at Dapithapon.”
Danao, who has long been recognized for his soulful guitar serenades and poetic verses, has captivated audiences across generations. With emotional indie tracks like “Ikaw at Ako,” Right Time,” and “Suntok sa Buwan,” Danao has carved out a successful career as a live acoustic performer, often choosing to play in intimate, sold-out cafe shows and venues to connect with his fans.

This upcoming two-day musical celebration is set to celebrate the musical career and legacy of one of the Philippines’ most beloved folk singers. Produced by Danao and minsan studio, “Liwayway at Dapithapon” promises to honor some of Danao’s most beloved hits, as well as offering audiences with several never-before-heard tracks from the musician.
What’s more, Danao will be accompanied by a 15-piece orchestra, arranged by acclaimed producer Ria Villena-Osorio. “Johnoy Danao has undergone so many phases in music, and we’re here to highlight the best of these moments,” says minsan studio head Jason Conanan. “Expect an experience that speaks to the soul,” says Danao.
