Independent music promoters The Rest is Noise are celebrating a milestone anniversary all weekend at the Astbury, Makati City, this April 4 and 5. All of the Noise will be showcasing performances of boundary-pushing live acts, but also live screenings of music documentaries and moderated talks that highlight the importance of live music, the impact of budots as a grassroots movement, a discussion on queer visibility in the music scene, and many more.
Origami Angel: Live in Manila

Independent show promoters Sleeping Boy Collective are bringing in the gang chants and sparkly guitar riffages of Origami Angel from Washington D.C. One of the most exciting pop-punk bands of the new decade, Origami Angel are performing in their first ever Manila show alongside Hong Kong punk partners Wellsaid and local openers Deadyears and Emma Bot. Tickets are running low and walk-ins are open on the day of the show.
Taguig Music Festival

To celebrate Taguig City’s 438th Founding Anniversary, the local government unit is throwing a two-day festival featuring OPM’s biggest names called the “Taguig Music Festival”, showcasing live music and entertainment at Arca South Open Grounds. Sharing the stage are Mayonnaise, Dionela, Armi Millare, Rob Deniel, Any Name’s Okay, Pau Gesi, and many more.

In Cavite’s DIY scene, Flip and Beyond Bar acts as a home for hardcore and experimental hip-hop acts ever since the closure of regular venues like Ingay Likha. For the upcoming Triple Treat show, bands from different cities of Metro Manila will be presenting their own styles such as Badwave, Repetition, and Stable, representing the Valenzuela, Quezon City and Tondo sides of hardcore.

For the seventh edition of the series, hardcore acts such as Warcrimes and Take Pain, joining alongside the resident punk bands are newcomers adjacent to the sound of punk, such as Ghost Stories’ old-school screamo performance and Crevice’s fast neo-crust punk in the limelight of Mow’s Bar. The show is for all ages.
