After its digital launch in April, Delish Philippines has released its maiden issue, with the Cordilleran snail dish Binungor highlighted on the inaugural cover.
The issue, revealed on Wednesday, July 15, takes readers on a culinary journey across the country, being the first international edition of Hearst Magazines International’s Delish. Chefs Jocelyn Kapuno, Pil-od Acop Ano, and Chavi Romawac, all champions of Cordilleran cuisine, share nine recipes from the region in one of the features. From there, the issue turns to the iconic dishes of Bulacan and Iloilo to uncover the stories behind them.
“One of the best things I love about food is that it has this incredible ability to connect people who might otherwise have nothing in common. And that’s exactly what we hope Delish Philippines becomes,” writes Delish Philippines’ Chief of Editorial Content Angelo Comsti.
He says that the magazine hopes to be “A place where curiosity is always welcome. A place where tradition and innovation can sit at the same table. A place where differences are not forgotten, but understood and celebrated. A place where every issue leaves you not just hungry for the next meal, but eager to learn the story behind it.”
